Centre increases strength of IAS cadre in C’garh

Government of India has increased total authorised strength of Chhattisgarh Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Cadre upto 202 from 193 by amending the Indian Administrative Service (Fixation of Cadre Strength) Regulations, 1955. Department of Personnel and Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India has published this amendment in its gazette notification on February 14.
By exercising the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3 of the All India Services Act, 1951 (61 of 1951), read with sub-rules (1) and (2) of rule 4 of the Indian Administrative Service (Cadre) Rules, 1954, the Central Government, in consultation with the Government of Chhattisgarh, has made the following regulations further to amend the Indian Administrative Service (Fixation of Cadre Strength) Regulations, 1955. These Regulations will be now called the Indian Administrative Service (Fixation of Cadre Strength) Amendment Regulations, 2023. There will be 110 senior duty posts under the State government. These posts will include one Chief Secretary, President of Board of Revenue, Agriculture Production Commissioner, 7 Principal Secretaries to Government 7, one Director of General Administrative Academy , one Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, one Chief Electoral Officer, 11 Secretaries to Government, one Member of Board of Revenue, one Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, one Commissioner, Government of Chhattisgarh, New Delhi and five Divisional Commissioners.
There will be one post for Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Labour Commissioner, Excise Commissioner, Commissioner of Tribal Development, Commissioner of Industries, Development Commissioner, Commissioner Agriculture, Commissioner Transport, Commissioner Land Records, Commissioner of Health Services and Commissioner of Public Relation. There will be 29 posts of Collector, 11 posts for Executive Director, DRDA and Ex-officio, CEO, District Panchayat / Additional Collector, 2 for Municipal Commissioner, 14 for Additional Secretary/Joint Secretary/ /Deputy Secretary to Government, 1 for Director of Public Instruction, Director of Women and Child Development, Director of Urban Administration, Director of Panchayat & Social Welfare, Director of Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Protection, Secretary of Public Service Commission, Director of Treasuries & Accounts, Director of Institutional Finance, Director of Budget, Director of Local Fund Audit and Additional Divisional Commissioner. The Central Deputation Reserve should not be exceeding 40% (above 44). State Deputation Reserve should not be exceeding 25% (above 27). Training Reserve should not be exceeding 3.5% (above 3) Leave Reserve and Junior Posts Reserve should not be exceeding 16.5%(above18). Posts to be filled by promotion under Rule 8 of the Indian Administrative Service (Recruitment) Rules, 1954 should not be exceeding 33 1/3% (above 61) and posts to be filled up by Direct Recruitment should be 141. Prior to the issue of this notification, the total authorized strength of Chhattisgarh IAS Cadre was 193. The Government of India has also amended the Indian Administrative Service (Pay) Rules, 2016. By exercising the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the All India Services Act, 1951 (61 of 1951), the Central Government, in consultation with the Government of Chhattisgarh has amended the Indian Administrative Service (Pay) Rules, 2016. Now, these rules may be called the Indian Administrative Service (Pay) Amendment Rules, 2023. The posts of Chief Secretary, President of Board of Revenue and Agriculture Production Commissioner are Level 17 in the pay matrix.
