RTMNU’s 46 BoS to go to polls in March

The 46 Boards of Studies (BoS) of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) will go to polls on March 11, 13, and 14 to elect their respective Chairpersons.
In the elections conducted recently, three members from each Board were elected while Vice-Chancellor (V-C) nominated three members. There are some members from the Government side and the group then elects its Chairman. The process of election of Chairperson began recently. Voters' list has already been prepared and recognised by V-C.
The BoS of Humanities, Interdisciplinary, Science and Technology, and Commerce and Management faculties will choose their leaders. There are 16 Boards including Mathematics, Physics, Botany, Commerce, Accounts and Statistics, English, Marathi, Urdu, Chemistry, Zoology, Bio-Chemistry, Statistics, Languages including English and other languages, Business Economics, History, Sociology whose elections of Chairpersons are scheduled on March 11. The last date for filing a nomination is February 26, 2023. The candidates can withdraw from the fray on March 6 till 5 pm. The result will be declared on the day of the election-- March 11, 2023.
The elections for other Chairpersons of the other 16 Boards are scheduled on March 13, 2023, the result of which will also be declared on the same day. These Boards include Electronics, Microbiology, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Management, Hindi, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Architecture, Applied Science and Humanities, Home Science, Philosophy, Sanskrit, and Law. Candidates are expected to file their nominations by February 27. Those who want to withdraw can do the same by March 8 till 5 pm.
There are 14 Boards that will go to polls on March 14. They include Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Pharmaceutical Science, Forensic Science, Computer Engineering, Science and Information Technology, English and other Language, Music, Economics, Political Science, Education, Physical Education and Recreation, Psychology, Geography, Social Work, and Home Economics. The filing of nominations by interested candidates has already begun and will end on February 28. By March 8 till 5 pm candidates can withdraw from the polls. The result will be declared on March 14, the day of the elections.
