FOR experiencing the amazing products of cotton, silk, handloom made by master craftsmen from all over India displayed in 36 stalls of different States of India, one has to visit the Cotton and Silk exhibition which is underway from February 1 to 13, 2023 at Chitnavis Centre, near Hislop College, Civil Lines. Timings are from 10.30 am to 9 pm. The exhibition is getting an overwhelming response from the Nagpurians. The participants are directly selling their products at the lowest costs directly to the customers. The customers can get authentic products and promote these artisans coming from all over the country. The products on display are large variety of exclusive silk and cotton sarees, dress materials, suits, stoles, dupattas, kurtas, kurties along with fashion jewellery and artefacts for home decor are sure to entice one and all to get an item of their choice.
The specialities include a host of varieties like Bhagalpuri Tassar, Kosa and Khadi silk of Bihar, Lucknow Chikan, Jamdani, Banaras silk from Uttar Pradesh, Chanderi and Maheshwari silk of MP and Patola, Bandhini and Kutch embroidery from Gujarat. Similarly, Rajasthan presents Bandhei, block print and Sanganeri print, Karnataka has Bangalore silk and printed crepe, the State of J&K with embroidered and Tabil silk, Kanjvaram and Coimbatore cotton from Tamilnadu. Whereas, West Bengal will offer Balucheri, Kantha, Tangail and Jamdani, Chhattisgarh’s Kantha, Kosa silk and tribal work sarees of Dharmavaram, and Pochampally will be presented by Andhra Pradesh.
