Vice-Chancellor of Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur Dr Vijender Kumar has become President of Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) in India. The Annual Governing Body meeting of the Consortium of National Law Universities was held recently at Diu. Prof Poonam Saxena chaired the meeting. The Governing Body, at the meeting, elected a new Executive Committee for the Consortium of National Law Universities. Prof Dr Vijender Kumar has taken over as President. He took charge from Outgoing President Dr Poonam Saxena.
Vice Chancellor of Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur Prof Dr V C Vivekanandan was elected as Vice President. Director, Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar Prof Dr Shanthakumar was elected as Convenor, Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2024. Dr Vijender Kumar worked as Registrar at NALSAR, Hyderabad and then became the Vice- Chancellor at National Law University, Assam in October 2014.
During the same period, National Law University at Nagpur was created by an ordinance by the Maharashtra Government, as the State’s second NLU after NLU at Mumbai.
Dr Vijender Kumar changed the face of the university and transformed into a grand one. Apart from outer look, Dr Vijender Kumar led from the front to introduce several new courses that would enable students to compete globally.
