Farmers leader Rakesh Tikait, who came into limelight with the farmers’ movement, in an informal talk with media, on Monday said that Kisan Panchayats will be organised in the month of February and March to discuss the burning issues related to farmers. He said a grand Panchayat is going to be held in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, on February 24 in which a strategy for a big farmers’ movement will be made.
Rajesh Tekait made the above statement while interacting with mediapersons on Monday. Attacking Bharatiya Janata Party, he said the party is engaged in toppling governments, it has done the same in Madhya Pradesh and doing in other states also. At present, the BJP is spreading its ideology in public by forming small government farmer organisations. It has hatched a conspiracy to break Khap Panchayats.
Commenting on Bageshwardham Peethadhishwar Dhirendra Shastri, Tikait said if he has so much power, then the religious leaders should solve the problems going on in the country. He said a number of cases are pending for a long time in the CBI and different Courts, so the religious leaders should get the cases resolved soon.
Rakesh Tikait strongly criticised the Government’s policies on many issues including MSP Guarantee Act, acquisition of land, maintenance of canals and irrigation system. He made it clear that no compromise would be made less than the MSP Guarantee Act, because till the Act is not made, there will be no benefit to the farmers. Tikait also condemned the Government on the issue of acquisition of land from farmers in Madhya Pradesh.
The farmer leader also commented on RSS Chief’s statement given in Mumbai. He said the personalities like him, whose words are being listened by everyone, should not give any such statement by mentioning the name of any caste. He said such utterance revels the intention of making people fight with each other in the country.
