Chairman of Communication Department of Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CPCC) Sushil Anand Shukla has come down heavily on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government after Uttar Pradesh police lodged an FIR against Chhattisgarh Police under Section 365 of CrPC.
Talking to mediapersons at State Congress party office Rajiv Bhawan in State Capital on Tuesday, Sushil Anand Shukla said that the Uttar Pradesh Police lodged an FIR against the police personnel of Chhattisgarh Police when they arrested nine online gamblers from Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Online forgery cases are being reported through Mahadev App. On the basis of complaints, Chhattisgarh Police went to Noida to nab the online gamblers, who were involved in operating Mahadev App. Chhattisgarh Police intimated the Uttar Pradesh Police and sought help from them but the Uttar Pradesh police arrested these accused under the Gambling Act. When these accused were out on bail, the Chhattisgarh Police arrested them and brought to Chhattisgarh from Noida.
The Uttar Pradesh Police lodged FIR against the personnel of Chhattisgarh under Section 365 that shows that the Uttar Pradesh is protecting these accused. On the contrary, the BJP leaders of Chhattisgarh submitted a memorandum to Enforcement Directorate (ED), demanding to investigate online fraud through Mahadev App, Shukla claimed. When the Uttar Pradesh is shielding these accused, the BJP leaders of Chhattisgarh should demand the ED and the union government to investigate the matter, he added. State Congress Spokesman R P Singh, who was also present at the press conference, said that a network is being operated for online cheating through Mahadev App across the country. On the complaints, Chhattisgarh Police have taken action against Mahadev App, Reddy App and Ambani App. The Chhattisgarh police conducted 17 raids from September 27, 2022 to February 7, 2023. 98 accuses have been arrested so far. 51 laptops and 199 mobiles were seized during the raids.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel government is committed to take strict action against online forgery. The Congress government in Chhattisgarh believes in giving crime free governance, he added. CPCC General Secretary Chandrashekhar Shukla, State Congress Spokespersons Dhananjay Singh Thakur, Surendra Verma, Media Coordinator Prakash Mani Vaishnav and Vikas Bajaj were also present in the press conference.
