The Transport Department has launched two-wheeler, three-wheeler, four-wheeler (non-commercial), four-wheeler (commercial), goods carrier passenger vehicles and other categories of battery-powered electric vehicles (EV) to promote electric vehicles in State under the Electric Vehicle Policy 2022. To work towards ensuring a healthy environment for the residents of Chhattisgarh and to avoid rapidly increasing harmful gas emissions from vehicles and other sources that result in decreasing the air quality index, rapid adoption of battery electric cars with BEVs accounting for 15 per cent of all new vehicle registrations by 2027 will result in significantly enhancing state’s environment by lowering emissions from the transports.
As a part of incentives under Electric Vehicles (EV) Policy 2022, the State Administration has exempted 10 per cent of the value excluding taxes of electric vehicles or up to Rs 1.5 lakh whichever is less in the purchase incentive amount and registration cost on the purchase of EV vehicles. A total of 9 electric vehicles have been registered with the District Transport Office in Dantewada, and the amount of 10 per cent has been transferred to the beneficiary’s bank account in accordance with the Incentive Electric Vehicles (EV) Policy 2022.
