Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, on Thursday targeted the recent meeting of non-BJP alliance leaders Nitish Kumar, Rahul Gandhi and Arvind Kejriwal and said those who had relied on corruption in their politics are now suffering and uniting out of fear. However, he expressed confidence that their gathering will not affect the victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the ensuing elections.
Tomar said the Union Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working towards eliminating corruption and there is now a rule of law in the country. He also condemned Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, stating that two of his ministers have been involved in corruption cases and are currently in jail. Reacting to Rahul Gandhi’s allegations of the BJP investing Rs 20,000 crore in Adani’s companies, Tomar called them baseless and accused Gandhi of spreading lies for his political gain. He challenged him to provide proof to the investigating agencies.
The Union Minister also took a jibe at the Congress party, stating it is losing support and moving towards defeat. He also questioned Rahul Gandhi’s recent Bharat Jodo Yatra’s connection with the ground reality. Tomar also dismissed rumors about him being in the race for the Chief Ministerial post and stated that he is a party worker and will perform any task assigned to him by the organisation. Regarding ticket distribution in Karnataka, Tomar said Party’s Election Committee will decide on candidates based on merit and demerit, considering the party’s chances of winning. Later, Tomar also visited BJP’s divisional office and met senior party leaders, who accorded him grand welcome.
