C’garh honoured with excellence award for implementation of PM Fasal Bima Yojana

The Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, has given the award of excellence to Chhattisgarh for the efficient and successful implementation of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana in State.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey have congratulated the officers and employees of the Agriculture Department for this achievement. It may be noted that Chhattisgarh is one of the leading states across the country in the implementation of Prime Minister Fasal Bima Yojana.
The award was given at the 9th National Review Workshop organised by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, in the capital Raipur today. Secretary to the Government of India Manoj Ahuja handed over the citation to Chhattisgarh’s Agriculture Production Commissioner Dr Kamalpreet Singh, giving him the award of excellence. On this occasion, Special Secretary Dr Ayyaz F Tamboli Special Secretary, Agriculture Department, Director Agriculture Ranu Sahu, Director Horticulture Department V Matheswaran, Additional Director Horticulture Bhupendra Pandey and Joint Director Agriculture B K Mishra were also present. In the national review workshop, it was informed that the ambitious scheme of the Government of India namely Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, has been successfully implemented in Chhattisgarh with Digiclaim module for automatic calculation and settlement of National Crop Insurance Portal. Along with this, remarkable success has also been achieved in registering the portal and taking the benefits of insurance to the farmers. 6,77,558 eligible farmers have been given the benefit of crop insurance under this scheme in Chhattisgarh, in the year 2022-23 and an amount of Rs 192.41 crore has been given to the farmers as insurance amount.
