Higher Education Minister Umesh Patel had a narrow escape on Tuesday night when his convoy was involved in a car accident near Bhojpuri Toll Plaza. Fortunately, the Minister sustained minor injuries on his head, leg and other body parts and was given primary treatment at a private hospital in Bilaspur before departing for his hometown in Kharsia late night. According to reports, the incident occurred at around 9 pm in the Hirri Police Station area. Minister Patel had been travelling with his convoy on the Bilaspur-Raipur National Highway 130 when he requested that his driver reduce the speed of his car as he wanted to take dinner inside the car.

Unfortunately, the driver of the follow car failed to notice the decrease in speed and collided with the Minister’s vehicle from behind.
