RAIPUR,
Former Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Dr Raman Singh has criticised Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel for making a political statement in the wake of the recent Naxal attack that resulted in the martyrdom of 11 DRG personnel. Dr Singh expressed his condolences to the grieving families and stated that the current situation cannot be compared to the past, as both past and present security personnel have displayed immense bravery in their fight against Naxals.
Dr Singh also highlighted the significant progress made in the security situation in Chhattisgarh, particularly in regions such as Bastar and Surguja, where it was previously difficult to move around due to Naxal activities.
The statement from the former Chief Minister came after Baghel made a remark that the DRG personnel attained martyrdom while fighting, whereas security personnel in the past would get martyred at camp without fighting. Dr Singh deemed Baghel’s statement as playing cheap politics and expressed his disappointment that the Chief Minister would make such remarks in the midst of profound sorrow for State.
