RAJU Kamwani-Ujjwal Kothari pair booked the final date with Jamashp Bapuna and Akshay Khetrapal after they clinched a 3-2 thrilling Eliminator in the ongoing Late Advocate MK Naidu Snicket Tournament at CP Club.
In the Eliminator, Kamwani and Kothari pair quelled the challenge from Anand Rai-Abhishek Thakur. It could be called as the mother of all comebacks as Kamwani-Kothari pair bounced back in the game after being down 0-2 in the best-of-five-frames encounter. In the first frame, Rai-Thakur scored 115 against which Kamwani-Kothari could score out to 94. Rai-Thakur continued their fine form as they took the lead 2-0 with the scores reaching 147 to 126 in their favour. Thakur made a break of 54.
However, when the chips were down, Kamwani-Kothari pair lifted themselves and crawled back in the match taking the third frame 154-116. In this frame Kothari made a break of 54. This boosted their confidence as they managed to level the score in the fourth frame 2-2. In the deciding frame, Kothari-Kamwani scored 126 while Rai-Thakur wilted under pressure to score 68 and lost the Eliminator 2-3.
