Green energy production is now geared-up with above 52 MWs solar power generation by domestic consumers in the region. A great rise in number of solar rooftop consumers from 209 in year 2020-21 to 3,782 in the year 2022-23 is a good sign for desired promotion of new and renewable energy generation in Central India. Solar power consumers have not only curtailed their electricity bills but are also contributing for the national campaign of restraining our carbon footprint.
Madhya Pradesh Poorva Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company, DGM and Nodal Officer of Solar Cell, Himanshu Agrawal, while talking to ‘The Hitavada’, informed that rapidly increasing numbers of solar rooftop consumers has given impetus to the campaign of green energy generation. He informed that total 3,782 consumers have set-up solar rooftops of total 54,983 kw capacity include 170 high-tension consumers of 26,477 kw and 3612 low-tension consumers of 28,506 kw. DGM, Agrawal added that around 1,250 consumers have registered their applications on National Portal of Grid Connected Solar Rooftop Programme to obtain subsidy upto 40 per cent in first 3 kw and 20 per cent from 3 kw to 10 kw solar rooftop.
Besides this, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy are providing subsidy on the condition of fulfilling Domestic Content Requirement by using only indigenous products. Subsidy amount is directly transferred in consumers’ account after technical verification by competent officer of the company and submission of project completion report. DGM, Agrawal informed that the company has around 40 registered private vendors for installing solar rooftop in Jabalpur, Sagar, Rewa and Shahdol divisions.
