IAS Asheesh Singh is new Bhopal Collector

On Thursday, new IAS officer Asheesh Singh took charge as Bhopal Collector. The charge was handed over by outgoing Collector Avinash Lavania. This changed happened in two days means in 48 hours, Kaushalendra Vikram Singh as the Bhopal Collector but in the new order issued on Wednesday night the State Government changed its decision and replaced him with Asheesh Singh. Singh is IAS of 2009-10 batch. Prior to this, Singh has served as the Collector of Dewas and Ujjain, Municipal Commissioner, Indore. Singh was posted as MD, MPRDC. Whereas, Kaushalendra Vikram Singh has now been given the responsibility of MD (Managing Director) of Tourism Development Corporation and Avinash Lavania is now as MD (Managing Director) of MP Road Development Corporation. Earlier, he was appointed MD of MP Water Corporation. S Viswanathan, who was MD of MPTDC (MP Tourism Development Corporation), has been transferred as MD of MP Water Corporation.
New Collector of Bhopal Asheesh Singh also sat on the hot seat of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’. When he was the Corporation Commissioner when the city of Indore achieved a hat-trick of cleanliness. After this, he got a chance to sit on the hot seat in the Karmaveer episode of KBC. He won Rs 12.5 lakh in the show. While Indore-Ujjain Corporation Commissioner, he has good experience of Swachh Survekshan, which will also benefit Bhopal. After joining, the new Collector also reached the KYC centre for Ladli Bahna scheme. Important responsibilities given to officers by the Government so changed in orders.
