Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Nagpur will organise its 7th Convocation Ceremony at its campus at MIHAN on April 8 at 10.30 am. Ajai Chowdhry, Founder of HCL and Chairman of EPIC Foundation will be the chief guest.

Chowdhry is one of the 6 founder members of HCL. HCL was started in 1976 with a dream to take microprocessor to the next level and change the world. HCL today is valued at US $50 bn. Chowdhry took HCL to Singapore in 1980 and created a business spanning ASEAN, China and Hong Kong. In 1995, he took over the reins of HCL Infosystems and created a 12,000 crore (US $1.6 bn) organisation over the next 15 years. In 2011, in recognition for helping build the IT and Electronics industry in India, the President of India, conferred the prestigious Padma Bhushan on him.

Ajai Chowdhry co-founded EPIC Foundation in 2021. The goal of the foundation was to focus on developing electronic products that could be of national importance. He serves as the Chairman of the foundation and has works with other expert global advisors.

Ritesh Agarwal, CEO of OYO Rooms will be the guest of honour. OYO Rooms is India’s largest hotel network, with a monthly revenue of $3.5 million and 1,500 employees in 154 cities in India. Agarwal made history in 2012 by becoming world’s second-youngest self-made billionaire at 25. The welcome message will be presented by C P Gurnani, Chairman, Board of Governors, IIM Nagpur. The annual report will be presented by Dr Bhimaraya Metri, Director IIM Nagpur.
