In the latest quarterly ranking of urban bodies, the Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC) has once again secured the top positions. This time, the Municipal Corporation has bagged the first and second positions in the ranking following a healthy competitive environment created by Municipal Commissioner Swapnil Wankhade.
Wankhade informed that the quarterly ranking was conducted across all the urban bodies in the State between May and July 2022 and from October to December 2022. A total of 1,000 marks were provisioned across four components, with the objective of ensuring maximum access to citizens while creating a competitive environment among the civic bodies.
The Municipal Commissioner said the ranking of the civic bodies was done based on their activities between May and July 2022 and from October to December 2022, along with their conduct of activities as mentioned above. Wankhade said the Jabalpur Municipal Corporation actively participated in these activities and secured the first and second ranking in the State by implementing result-oriented actions. To appreciate the remarkable efforts of the JMC, an incentive amount of Rs 36 lakh has been provided under the Urban Cleanliness Award scheme. This amount has been
deposited in the account of the Municipal Corporation and can be used for public campaigns, information, education and communication activities at the civic body level, as well as for encouraging cleaning friends, citizens and partners, among others. Municipal Commissioner, Wankhade congratulated the sanitation team members for the outstanding achievement.
