Vidarbha Taxpayers Association (VTA) recently raised voice for parking space for two-wheelers near the main entrance of Nagpur Railway Station along with some other facilities for the passengers. A delegation of the association led by its President Shrawan Kumar Malu took up these issues with Ashutosh Shrivastava, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Central Railways Nagpur, and held detailed discussion. The delegation also submitted a memorandum highlighting the demands.
Shrawan Kumar Malu said, “We have received a few grievances from the public like there is no designated parking space for the two wheelers at the Nagpur Railway Station. This makes two wheeler rides to park their vehicles at the east side of the station i.e. Santra Market side. It is a very time consuming affair,” he said.
Apart from this, VTA pointed out that there were no mist sprayers on the main platforms of the station. “It should be installed on priority as summer heat is at its peak,” said the VTA members. Tejinder Singh Renu, Secretary of VTA, submitted that many times it is experienced that trains originating from Nagpur are starting from different platforms.
“This causes the travellers to run for platform change. It should be made sure that such trains start from a dedicated platform for traveller convenience,” he added. Ashutosh Shrivastava appreciated the issues raised by VTA and assured that all required efforts will be taken in this regard. Also present in the VTA delegation were Hemant Trivedi – Vice President, Amarjeet Singh Chawla and Rajesh Kanungo – Joint Secretaries.
