A Kargil widow, as strong as her husband who laid his life while protecting the honour of his Motherland, had announced even in that delicate state that she would also send her son into the Indian Army. Years later, that dream has been fulfilled as martyr Krushnaji Samrit and Savita Samrit’s 23-year-old son Prajwal has been selected to serve in the Army as a Lieutenant. Krushna Samrit of Gandhinagar had attained martyrdom while fighting the enemy during the Kargil War.
Prajwal was very young when he lost his father. His mother always envisaged Prajwal to follow in the footsteps of his father and he honoured her wish. With consistent hard work, Prajwal took the tests and examinations and cracked them and has finally been selected to serve as lieutenant in the Indian Army. He had bagged all-India 63rd rank and would begin his 18-month training at Dehradun soon. After the completion of the training he will be commissioned into service. People of Gandhinagar are all praise for Prajwal for taking efforts to fulfil his mother’s dream.
