The first flight for this year’s Haj pilgrimage with will depart from Nagpur for Jeddah on June 7. The first batch of 430 passengers will leave for the pilgrimage. The Central Tanzeem Committee at Mohd Ali Sarai has taken up several initiatives for the ease of the pilgrims. A camp was inaugurated on Monday. The committee would be guiding the pilgrims regarding physical fitness.
Shahid Naseem Khan, Vice-President of Central Tanzeem Committee told ‘The Hitavada’, “This year, nine flights from Nagpur’s Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport will depart for Jeddah. The first flight carrying 430 Haj pilgrims will depart at 9 pm. The same day, another flight with another batch of 430 Haj pilgrims will leave for Jeddah at 11.10 pm. On June 8, third flight will depart at 11.10 pm carrying 430 passengers. On June 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 the flights will carry 330 passengers each. These flights will depart at 10 am daily. The return flights will start reaching city from July 16.” This year, a total of 3,270 pilgrims will fly to Jeddah on various days from Nagpur. On Monday, Maulana Ateeq Ahmed inaugurated the guidance camp. The polio dose activity was conducted by the Health Department of Nagpur Municipal Corporation. Haj Arqan Maulana Gulam Raza from Madina Masjid, Anantnagar and Maulana Shakir Raza, Maulana Naeem guided the pilgrims about Haj in detail.
The camp was held under the chairmanship of Abdul Qadir, President of CTC. Shaheed Naseem Khan and Mohd Abdul Kalam, Secretary were present. Abid Ruhi, Sr Airport Director of MIHAN India Limited (MIL), Amit Kasatkar from Immigration department, Gaffar Ansari were present. Naeem Khan, retired officer informed the audience about the steps to be taken if somebody found missing. Iqbal Bera conducted the proceedings, Azeez Khan welcomed the guests. Niyaz Ahmed, Gulam Mustafa, Abdul Mateen Rahman, Arif Pathan extended support to the programme.
