A factory manufacturing fries, which are eaten with great interest by the children, has been sealed by a team of district administration officials. The complaints against Sona Foods factory located in Govindpura Industrial area, were continuously being received by the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA). Under the campaign to get rid of adulteration, on the instructions of Collector Ashish Singh, a team of the department raided the factory.

The team found huge mess at the spot, amidst which fries were being made. On this, the team of FDA has sealed the factory. Apart from this, the team has taken samples of food items while taking action at different establishments.

District Food Safety Officer Devendra Dubey said that the factory of businessman Indrakumar’s Sona Foods is located in Govindpura Industrial area. Different types of coloured fries are made in the unit. When the team inspected the factory on Wednesday, there was filth all over. Not only this, the workers working here were also walking on the food items being dried on the ground.

Food was being produced here in an unhygienic conditions. Apart from this, the factory operator did not even get a food license under the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006. Apart from taking samples from this, the construction work has been stopped by sealing the factory. Action taken on the complaints of CM Helpline:

While investigating the complaints received from the Chief Minister Helpline by the Food Security Administration, samples of milk and paneer and gram flour were taken from Omshakti Kirana and Milk Dairy located at Ratan Colony Karond and Pallavi Nagar, Winter Rose Cafe located at Bawdia Kala. During regular checking, coriander, black salt from Jumerati-based Gandhi Traders, handed over from Shri Kalash Traders, black salt and milk and curd samples from Krishna Milk Curd Bhandar, Kotra were taken. On the basis of doubt on the quality, the samples have been sent to the State Food Testing Laboratory, Bhopal.
