He said that up to Rs 3,000 will be provided to the Ladli Bahnas. Furthermore, even the young girls who have turned 21 will also benefit from the scheme. CM Chouhan said that the scheme has begun with a grant of Rs 1,000 and the amount will gradually increase by Rs 250. During the State-level programme Ladli Bahna Yojana, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan transferred Rs 1,000 into the accounts of 1.25 crore beneficiaries with a single click.

Terming the day a remarkable and historic one, Chouhan said that Indian culture had always honoured women since centuries. However, there came a time when injustice was done to daughters and sisters. They were considered inferior. The CM explained the objective of the Ladli Bahna Yojana and the reasons for its implementation. He said that Rs 1,000 will be deposited into the accounts of women beneficiaries every month. Initially, this scheme was launched for the benefit of the tribal people and their condition improved. When the Congress government came, they discontinued it. They even discontinued giving laptops to boys and girls, he said.

Chief Minister said that the State Government will not stop at just Rs 1,000 and the amount will gradually increase. Once the arrangements for the funds are made, the amount will be increased further, Chouhan assured. In future, the amount will be raised to Rs 3,000 by increasing it by Rs 250 gradually. Chouhan also mentioned that until now, the scheme was only available to young girls/women who were 23 years or older. Now, even daughters who have turned 21 will benefit from the Ladli Bahna Yojana. During the programme, the Chief Minister transferred the grant of Rs 1,000 to the accounts of 1.25 crore beneficiary women with a single click.

Earlier on reaching Jabalpur, the Chief Minister first offered prayers and performed rituals at the Khermai temple. The young girls and women welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting him flowers. On Saturday, the responsibility of the CM’s security in Jabalpur was in the hands of female police personnel. During the programme, the girls were worshipped, followed by the ceremonial lighting of lamps to mark the official start of the programme. Amongst those shared the dais with the Chief Minister were BJP State President V D Sharma, Minister Incharge Gopal Bhargava, Member of Parliament from Jabalpur Rakesh Singh, former Minister Ajay Vishnoi and others.
