With late appearance of South West Monsoon in coastal India, the wait for monsoon has prolonged for citizens of Vidarbha too. According to weather experts, monsoon is likely to reach Vidarbha on June 20. The pre-monsoon activities have already started in the region, including Nagpur. India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday, in its bulletin stated that thunderstorm, lightning and light rains will occur all over Vidarbha from June 11. Despite pre-monsoon activities prevailing in Vidarbha, maximum temperature across the region remained between 42 and 44 degrees Celsius on Saturday.
At 43.4 degrees Celsius, Gondia recorded the highest maximum temperature in Vidarbha on Saturday. Akola (42.8 degrees Celsius), Brahmapuri (42.8 degrees Celsius), Nagpur (42.7 degrees Celsius), Chandrapur (42.6 degrees Celsius), Gadchiroli (42.2 degrees Celsius), and Amravati (42.0 degrees Celsius) recorded the maximum temperature above 42 degrees mark. The minimum temperature in cities across Vidarbha was on higher side as the night temperature on Saturday was between 26.0 degrees Celsius and to 31.0 degrees Celsius.
