Priyanka Gandhi to commence poll campaign from banks of Narmada in city on June 12

Congress General Secretary, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra would blow the bugle of election campaign for the upcoming Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh from the banks of river Narmada in Jabalpur on June 12. She will perform Narmada Pujan and also address a grand public meeting in the city, informed senior Congress leaders while addressing a press conference, on Saturday.
 
Sharing details about Priyanka Gandhi’s visit, Congress leaders said Priyanka Gandhi will arrive at Dumna Airport around 10 am, on Monday. From there, she will reach Gaurighat by a helicopter. At Gaurighat, she will perform rituals and worship river Narmada. Former Chief Minister Kamal Nath will also be present on the occasion. Thereafter, Priyanka Gandhi will visit Bhawartal Garden and pay tribute to Veerangana Rani Durgavati. Later, around 10.30 am, she will join the main programme at Gol Bazaar, where she will address the grand public meeting. City Congress President, Jagat Bahadur Singh stated that it is an auspicious sign for the Congress party that the election campaign is going to launch from the banks of river Narmada. It is not only a symbolic gesture but also a victorious announcement, he added.
 
Program Coordinator Chandraprabhat Shekhar expressed his optimism that the Congress party will win over 150 seats in Madhya Pradesh in 2023 elections. He said in 2018, Congress showed a trailer and the complete film will be showcased in 2023. He said the Congress will emerge victorious. MLA Tarun Bhanot mentioned that the people of every section in the city are enthusiastic to hear Priyanka Gandhi. Bhanot said this time, the Congress party with the support of people will uproot the Bharatiya Janata Party, which has ruled the State for the past 19 years.
