Four senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers of Chhattisgarh cadre are among 41 others of 2004-batch, who have been empanelled for holding the post of Inspector General (IG) or equivalent level post at Centre. According to an order issued by Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved on Monday, the empanelment of 41 IPS officers of 2004-batch, who can now be posted for top positions in the Central administration by the Centre. Knowledgeable sources pointed out that only those empanelled by the Centre after a detailed review of performance, integrity and other factors are posted in the Central administration from their respective cadres.
 
“Four senior IPS officers of Chhattisgarh cadre from 2004-batch figuring in the list include Abhishek Pathak, Dr Sanjeev Shukla, IG CID, Neha Champawat, Special Secretary (Home) and Ajay Yadav. While Pathak is already on Central Deputation as DIG in Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Dr Shukla is presently serving as IG CID with Chhattisgarh Police whereas Champawat and Yadav are holding the crucial posts of Special Secretary (Home) and IG (Intelligence) in Chhattisgarh Government,” the sources added.
