Vedant Pande and Jairaj Joshi from Shivaji Science College topped the State Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) in PCM group with 99.99 percentile and 99.49 percentile respectively. Similarly, Shree Hiwanj of Shivaji Science topped PCB group with 99.67 percentile. Riya Meshram of Dr Ambedkar College, Deekshabhoomi stood second topper in PCB group with 99.4 percentile.
The results of MHT-CET conducted for admission to Engineering, Pharmaceutical and Agriculture courses were declared on Monday. The CET was conducted by State CET Cell. Students of the city have performed brilliantly.
State CET Cell, conducts entrance examinations for the admissions to MBA, MCA, BArch, Agriculture, Engineering and Pharmacy courses. Accordingly, the MHT-CET examination was conducted at 197 exam centers in 36 districts of the State. Of the total centres, 181 were in Maharashtra and 16 were outside Maharashtra.
Dr Ambedkar College’s Samyak Borkar has secured 98.66 percentile (PCM), Ansh Bajaj 98.5 percentile (PCM), Rutuja Pavaskar 98.4 percentile (PCM). MKH Sancheti Public School and Junior College, Krishna Vijay Warfade, a student of MKH Sancheti Public School and Junior College, earned laurels by securing 99.19 per cent. On the basis of score in MHT-CET, the admissions will be given in various engineering, pharmaceutical and agricultural colleges in the State, considering the marks earned by students in Class XII.
Vedant Pande eyes IIT, to pursue Computer Science
Vedant Pande, who topped PCM group with 99.99 percentile, aspires to become a Computer Engineer. He had prepared for JEE examination. The similar syllabus and examination pattern of JEE Mains and MHT-CET helped Vedant to do well in MHT-CET. Better scoring in the State Board examination raised Vedant’s confidence. His father Subhash Pande is a teacher at Shivaji Science College and mother Shyamli Pande is Professor in Dhanwate College.
Vedant says, co-operation from parents and teachers helped him to scored well. He secured merit position with 96.83 per cent in Class XII whose results declared last month.
