On the complaint of possessing disproportionate income, team of Economic Offences Wing (EOW) on Thursday conducted a search operation at the residence of Cooperative Society Manager in Rithi, Devrikala. The raid has caused a stir in entire area. According to information, Anil Rai, Manager of the Cooperative Society and his wife Ahilya Rai, who is a local leader, reside in Devrikala village in Rithi tehsil. It is said that an EOW team arrived at Devrikala early in the morning at around 5 am and conducted investigation in income-related matters at Anil Ray’s house till late in the evening.
 
According to sources, the EOW team arrived at the residence of the Society Manager to investigate complaints related to disproportionate assets. So far, the EOW team recovered over 30 property registrations, including over Rs 10 lakh in cash, 500 grams of gold and documents related to three wheelers. On the other hand, sources mentioned that Society Manager Anil Rai has been in his position for a long time and has always faced allegations of corruption in his work practices. Prior to this, he was also accused of misappropriation of gram (chickpea) distributed by the society.
 
According to sources, the EOW team first arrived at Anil Rai’s house at Panna, but no one was found there. After that, the team directly went to his ancestral residence in Devrikala. Anil Rai has been serving as a salesman in Rithi Society for several years and currently holds the position of Manager in the Cooperative Society. Meanwhile, EOW team has registered a case under relevant sections and is investigating further into the matter.
