“We strongly oppose National Pension Scheme and privatisation process and NPS a part of privatisation process. Under the leadership of Vijay Kumar Bandhu, National President, National Movement for Old Pension Scheme, a nation-wide ‘NPS Privatisation Bharat Chhodo Yatra’ will create a public movement against all these anti-employees policies. We appeal to the farmers, teachers, employees and other sectors to render their support to our movement,” said Parmanand Daheria, National Secretary and Regional President of National Movement for Old Pension Scheme MP. Daheria was addressing a press conference called on Friday to inform about the Yatra which started from Champaran, Bihar, on June 1, 2023 and will reach Sanskardhani on June 18, 2023.
To offer warm welcome, a ‘Torch Rally’ will be taken out at Bada Patthar Ranjhi and after passing through different places, it will culminate at Gokulpur community hall. The Central and State Governments stopped Old Pension Scheme and imposed National Pension Scheme in the year 2004 and 2005 respectively.Under NPS, teachers and employees get Rs 1000 to Rs 3000 as monthly pension after retirement, putting employees’ families under immense financial crunch. We demand to reinstate Old Pension Scheme, simultaneously, the service tenure should be counted from the first appointment date and then seniority would be decided accordingly.
The members requested the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister to impose Civil Service Pension Rule 1976 in July month’s Supplementary Budget. The government should keep the provident funds invested in National Pension Scheme and use it for nation building activities. The Yatra will reach Madhya Pradesh’s Nagod, Satna and Rewa on June 17 at Katni and Jabalpur on June 18.
