City’s Mrunal Vairagade is 87th in country in JEE Advanced

Mrunal Vairagade, a student from Nagpur, stood 87th in the country in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced for admission to top technical institutions like Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). Good number of students passed JEE Advanced in Nagpur. IIT Guwahati announced the result of JEE Advanced exam conducted for admission to Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) across the country, on Sunday. Examination consisted of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics. All three papers were conducted for 60-60 marks in each of the two rounds. Apart from this, IIT Guwahati also released the final answer-sheet of the examination. Total 43,773 students from all over the country have been declared eligible. Many students like Mrinal Vairagade, Uday Darade (286 rank), Sarthak Thakre (295 rank), Tanay Agarwal (321 rank), Pranish Panpaliya (341 rank) stood toppers.
 
The basic difference between JEE Main and JEE Advanced is- one has to clear JEE Main exam and secure the cut-off mark with qualified All India Rankings to be able to take the JEE Advanced examination. JEE Main is a gateway to qualify for JEE Advanced. Candidates who score amongst the top 2,50,000 ranks in JEE Main are qualified to apply for the JEE Advanced. Candidates must have a score of a minimum of 75 per cent marks in Class 12. For reserved categories, the minimum score is 65 percent.
