Jagannath Rath Yatra begins with pomp and show

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel offered prayers at Jagannath Temple in Gayatri Nagar on the occasion of the beginning of the Rath Yatra, on Tuesday. Baghel offered prayers to Lord Jagannath, Bhaiya Baldau and sister Subhadra. He worshiped and brought the idols on his head to chariot.

The CM also performed Chhera Pahara (sweeping in front of the chariot with a broom made of gold) ceremony before the Rath Yatra. On this occasion, he wished for the happiness and prosperity of people of State. CM Baghel conveyed his best wishes to the people of State on the occasion of Lord Shri Jagannath’s Rath Yatra. He further said that Lord Jagannath is also adored by the people of Chhattisgarh. The festival of Rath Yatra is also celebrated in Chhattisgarh with devotion and enthusiasm. Speaker of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Dr Charan Das Mahant, Korba MP Jyotsana Mahant, Parliamentary Secretary Vikas Upadhyay, Mayor of Raipur Municipal Corporation Aijaz Dhebar, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Housing Board Kuldeep Juneja, Chairman of State Mineral Development Corporation Girish Dewangan, Speaker of Raipur Municipal Corporation Pramod Dubey, Chairman of Shri Jagannath Mandir Sewa Samiti Purandar Mishra and others were present.
