All India Congress Committee (AICC) National President Mallikarjun Kharge and former Congress National President Rahul Gandhi recently held a meeting with Congress party leaders from Chhattisgarh at the AICC Headquarters in New Delhi. The purpose of the meeting was to strategise for the upcoming assembly elections scheduled to be held in November and December. During a press conference at the AICC Headquarters, AICC General Secretary for Chhattisgarh Kumari Selja stated that the meeting was guided by Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and AICC General Secretary (Organisation) KC Venugopal. The senior leaders of the Congress party discussed the political situation in Chhattisgarh in detail.
 
Selja further mentioned that Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi received reports from the party leaders of Chhattisgarh regarding the ground-level work, achievements of the Congress Government, and the political situation in State. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel presented the achievements of the Chhattisgarh Congress government, while CPCC President Markam discussed the organizational activities of the party. The meeting also focused on the functioning of the government ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. The decisions taken by the Chhattisgarh government and the work done over the past four and a half years were discussed. It was highlighted that the promises made by Rahul Gandhi during the previous assembly elections are being implemented in Chhattisgarh, benefiting the people of the state. Cabinet ministers and senior party leaders of Chhattisgarh provided suggestions for the upcoming assembly elections during the meeting. The discussions covered social and political issues in detail. Kumari Selja emphasized that the Congress government in Chhattisgarh has fulfilled the hopes of the people, and the party will work together to contest the elections. She also stated that the Congress party will uphold the values of the constitution and not fall for the BJP’s trap, which she characterized as a short-term focus on religion rather than addressing broader issues. The meeting included presentations from AICC Secretaries for Chhattisgarh, who reported on the political situation in their respective areas.
 
The Congress leaders of Chhattisgarh expressed their commitment to working together to ensure the party’s victory in the upcoming assembly elections. Selja added that it is natural for expectations to be high when a government is formed, and party workers also have expectations from the government. Mallikarjun Kharge guided the party leaders in the meeting and said that constitution is paramount for the country. The Congress party has to uphold Indian constitution and its values. The BJP has nothing but religious issues and they have no agenda other than to trick people into religious issues. Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CPCC) President Mohan Markam, Speaker of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Dr Charan Das Mahant, Health and Family Welfare Department Minister T S Singhdeo, Cabinet Ministers Tamradhwaj Sahu, Dr Shiv Kumar Dahariya, Kawasi Lakhma, Mohammad Akbar, Jaisingh Agrawal, AICC Secretaries for Chhattisgarh Dr Chandan Kumar Yadav, Saptagiri Sankar Ulaka, AICC Joint Secretary Vijay Jangid, senior Congress Satyanaryan Sharma, Dhanendra Sahu and other party leaders attended the meeting.
