On Friday, senior leader of Bharatiya Janata Party and President of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Dr Vinay Sahasrabuddhe addressed a press conference at party office in State capital for special campaign on completion of 9 years of Modi Government where he stated that social welfare is included in every scheme of the Centre Government. He said that after the establishment of the e-Shram Portal, now the unorganised workers are getting the benefits of the existing social welfare schemes. In addition, 12 ‘Garima Grihas’ have been set up across the country for people belonging to the transgender community, providing shelter to them. Similarly, grants-in-aid amounting to Rs 508.34 crore has been released to 3,954 projects benefiting more than 2.7 lakh disabled population of the country under the Deendayal Disabled Rehabilitation Scheme. Apart from this, scholarship worth Rs 556.37 crore has been provided to 1.84 lakh disabled students till 2022.
He said that for the first time in the country, the facility of migration from one Anganwadi center to another within and outside the State has been provided for pregnant women and lactating mothers under Nutrition Tracker. Over 2,900 villages have been selected under the Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana, transforming the lives of over 53 lakh families, including over 2.6 crore people belonging to the scheduled caste. The current social welfare model is inclusive in nature and is extending its benefits to all communities while ensuring overall social welfare. Modi government made Deendayal’s vision come true: The reforms brought in the ‘Aadhaar’ system, along with dedicated portals for each scheme, are successfully delivering the benefits of social welfare schemes to the intended beneficiaries. With schemes and initiatives such as PM Ujjwala Yojana, One Nation-One Ration Card, Jal Jeevan Mission, PM Awas Yojana, PM Gram Sadak Yojana and Swachh Bharat Mission ushering in change in this sector is impacting everyone and India’s public welfare Strengthening the image of the State.
Dr Sahasrabuddhe informed that the Public Policy Research Center (PPRC) released a report titled ‘Social Justice Se Sampoorna Vikas’, which captured the essence of the robust social welfare model in the country and also provided evidence to prove it. Staggering figures were also presented. More than 11.66 crores Ensured clean drinking water supply for rural households. He said that after coming to power in 2014, the BJP-led NDA government has changed the scenario of social welfare in the country. Before 2014, the rural sanitation coverage was only 38.7 per cent. He said that there has also been a tremendous increase in the budgetary allocation for the ministries related to social welfare under the NDA regime. the budget of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment increased by 1.9 times, showing an increase of over 91 per cent, from Rs 6725.32 crore in 2013-14 to Rs 12,847.02 crore in the latest budget. After 2014, 523 Eklavya residential schools were approved in tribal areas. Under Mission Poshan 2.0, more than 4 lakh Poshan Vatikas have been developed across the country and 1.10 lakh medicinal plants have been planted. Thus, after the successful implementation of Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao scheme, India’s sex ratio has increased from 918 (2014-15) to 937 (2020-21) and has improved by 19 points.
He said that in the last phase of Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan in 2021-22, 695 panchayat buildings were constructed and more than 6 lakh stakeholders were trained. Apart from this, 1,619 Panchayat Shikshan Kendras were created under the scheme. He presented a power point presentation on the comparative report of 9 years of Modi government and UPA government’s tenure by National Public Policy Research Center (PPRC) in the press conference.
On this occasion, State Vice President of the party Seema Singh, State General Secretary and State Office Incharge Bhagwandas Sabnani, Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, and all officials of the party were present prominently.
