Mandla Collector makes surprise inspection of district’s disaster management preparedness

 

 

Collector, Dr Saloni Sidana conducted a surprise inspection of preparations for disaster management at the district level. During the inspection, she made a surprise inspection of the district level disaster management and flood control room set-up in the Collectorate’s office. The collector directed that the number of the control room should be kept active continuously. Similarly, arrangements should also be made for alternate CUG mobile number. She directed that by amending the duty of the control room, the duty of a senior officer should be imposed daily. Similarly, SLR will do duty in the control room seven days a week. Assistant SLR will also be on duty to assist them. She directed the officers and employees on duty in the control room to properly maintain the block level control room numbers and other important numbers and be in continuous contact with each other.

 

Collector, Dr. Sidana also conducted a surprise inspection of the preparations made by the District Home Guards for disaster management and flood control. She directed the Commandant Home Guards to distribute all rescue materials related to disaster management and flood control like ropes, boats, medicines, essential equipment, torches etc. at tehsil levels. Similarly, ensure deployment of trained staff in accident prone areas across the district. She also directed to immediately send life jackets, life balls, medical supplies and other essential materials to the accident prone areas at the ground level.
