The rescue operation was on till the filing of this report. NDRF and SDRF teams with police are working hard to rescue the girl. DIG (Bhopal Rural) Monika Shulka reached the spot. Sehore Collector incharge, SP, SDM, SHO Kotwali and other officers of the administrative department rushed to the spot and made sure that the rescue operation run swiftly. News from village Mungavli which is around 5 kilometres from the district headquarters saddened the residents of the entire district. People started praying for Shrishti Kushwaha, daughter of Rahul Kushwaha, who fell into a 300 feet deep borewell at around 1 pm on Tuesday. According to the information, Shrishti was playing in a farm next to her father’s farm while her mother and grandmother were working at a little distance from her. While playing she went near that open borewell and fell into it. The borewell is said to be 300-feet deep and Shrishti got stuck at about 25 feet.
Locals said that the borewell was covered with a ‘tagari’, a round iron pan, while playing Shrishti might have stepped over it and the ‘tagari’ turned and Shrishti fell inside the borewell. The rescue team started digging the land parallel to the borewell to the same depth so that she could be taken out from sideways. She was given oxygen via pipes through oxygen cylinders. A camera was also inserted into the borewell in which Shrishti was seen fine in the beginning hours but later sadly she seems to be unconscious. Sehore SDM Aman Mishra said “we are providing oxygen to Shrishti through pipes. While 3 JCB and 3 Poclain machines are digging the land. Administrative officers and police officers are here. We will safely rescue the girl”. On this incident Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan through a tweet said that he had instructed the local authorities to carry out the rescue operation properly. He also said that the rescue teams are trying to bring out the little girl safely. I pray for the girl’s safety and wellness, he tweeted.
