City bids tearful adieu to brave Sangeet Suryavanshi

Son of Sanskardhani, Sangeet Suryavanshi who died while serving the General Reserve Engineering Force (GREF) in Leh was cremated with State honours at Gwarighat crematorium, on Wednesday. Sangeet Suryavanshi (28), son of Chhadami Lal Suryavanshi, a resident of Madai in VFJ Estate was posted in GREF at Leh. On July 9, he was on duty when he complained of chest pain when other soldiers rushed him to hospital where he was declared brought dead.
Thereafter, body of Sangeet was airlifted to Jabalpur and brought to his native place in Madai in VFJ Estate. Grieving family members received the coffin, crying and screaming on seeing the body of their unmarried son. A large numbers of residents along with Government officials and police personnel attended the funeral procession.
 
Collector Saurabh Kumar Suman (IAS) Superintendent of Police, Tushar Kant Vidyarthi (IPS) along with other district officers reached at Gwarighat crematorium. Martyr Sangeet Suryavanshi was cremated with State honour. Family members informed that Sangeet had first posting in Ladakh. During his posting in Leh, Sangeet along with other soldiers was conducting patrolling in border area when he complained of pain and fell on the ground and lost his consciousness. SP Tushar Kant Vidyarthi and Collector Saurabh Kumar Suman paid tributes to the martyr Sangeet Suryavanshi and termed his sacrifice as pride for residents and an inspiration for other youngsters for serving the nation.
