Hareli Tihar was celebrated with traditional fervour at Chief Minister’s House in the State Capital on Monday. The Chief Minister’s House was beautifully decked with the traditional look on the occasion of the Hareli Tihar. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel performed customary rituals and did ‘puja’ of the cow of Sahiwal species and the calf that was born in Chief Minister’s residence with state-of-the-art technology. The Chief Minister fed them grass as well. The calf was born on June 7, as a result of the sex sorted sperm method of artificial insemination. Baghel also participated in ‘Gedi’ race at his official residence.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Baghel said that the Hareli festival is not just a festival of riding a cart. It is a festival of exuberance of life. Happiness in life does not come just like that. An environment has to be created for this. The economic condition of the farmers in Chhattisgarh was not good. In the last 57 months, the Congress Government in Chhattisgarh made agriculture-friendly policies, due to which happiness has returned to the farmer’s home, said Baghel. “Unique enthusiasm that is overflowing among the farmers on the occasion of Hareli Tihar. I am very happy. We made schemes focusing on farmers and labourers. Due to this, the area under agriculture has increased and now with the decision to buy 20 quintals of paddy per acre, this euphoria is at its peak. Milk production has increased through Godhan Nyay Yojana. Due to better economic condition in rural and urban areas,” said Baghel. While extending his Hareli Tihar greetings to the people of the state, the Chief Minister wished for a good harvest and prosperity of the farmers.

He said that today there is an atmosphere of happiness in the tribal areas as well.” The Chief Minister said that his government has taken various measures to preserve Chhattisgarhi art and culture. Chhattisgarhi dishes and culture are being promoted at national and international levels, he added.
