MAFSU awaiting V-C for past one month

Despite a Search Committee finalising five names for the post of Vice Chancellor (V-C) of Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University (MAFSU), Chancellor of Maharashtra Universities Ramesh Bais is yet to select a candidate. MAFSU is awaiting its new Vice Chancellor since past one month. The five persons whose names have been shortlisted are: Dr Naresh H Kelawala, presently Vice Chancellor of Kamdhenu University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat; Dr Nitin Patil, Director of National Research Centre for Camel (NRCC), Rajasthan; Ashok Kumar, Deputy Director General of Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR); and Dr Chandrashekhar Rao, Dr N V Rao.
 
Dr Ashish Paturkar, who has been the Vice Chancellor of MAFSU for the past five years, demitted his office in January 2023. Apart from implementing several projects for the welfare of people of all strata, Dr Paturkar has earned his name as Mr Clean. After the end of the tenure of Dr Paturkar, the Chancellor gave the charge of Vice Chancellor to Dr Sharad Gadakh, Vice Chancellor of Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth (PDKV).
