Investigating the blind murder mystery of an elderly man, Belkhera police have succeeded in apprehending the accused within 24-hours of the incident. The arrested accused has been identified as Guddu alias Mer Singh Vishwakarma (44), resident of Bamhori village, Themi in Narsinghpur district and working as labourer. He killed the elderly man for not paying his wage after working. SP Tushar Kant Vidyarthi (IPS), while addressing a press conference, on Wednesday, informed that, on July 17, the body of an elderly man named Kunjilal Lodhi (75), resident of Sunachar village was found at his house situated in Mankedi village under Belkhera police station. Police team led by SHO, Belkhera, Sukhdev Dhurve learnt that deceased Kunjilal lived with his family at his old house situated at farm. Deceased’s son Tarvar Singh Lodhi (46) informed that a man named Guddu alias Mer Singh Vishwakarma was working as carpenter at his house who left the incomplete work and returned his home during January 2023.
 
On July 16, 10 am, Guddu Vishwakarma talked about work on phone and he reached at their new house at around 3 pm and told for starting work from next day morning. On July 17, he found that his father who daily reached at old house for tea could not reached that day when he reached at old house and found that his father was brutally killed at his room and Guddu was missing from the house. Acting promptly on the information, police started a search and succeeded in apprehending the accused and seized an axe and clothes with blood marks from him. In the interrogation, the accused confessed killing of Kunjilal after an argument on paying his remaining payment.
