NATURE enthusiasts are drawn from far and wide to the mesmerising embrace of Kanger Valley National Park, a sanctuary nestled just 27 kilometres away from Chhattisgarh’s Bastar district. On July 22, the park marked its 41st Foundation Day, a testament to its tireless efforts in preserving the region’s unique biodiversity and indigenous tribal heritage. Encompassing a vast expanse of 200 square kilometres, the Kanger Valley National Park boasts a tapestry of diverse landscapes and natural wonders. Among its top attractions is the majestic Tirathgarh Waterfall, an enchanting spectacle that never fails to captivate visitors. Moreover, Kenjardhar and Bhainsadhar house captivating crocodile parks, adding to the allure of this natural haven. Adventurous souls can embark on gypsy safaris, delving deep into the heart of nature’s bounty for an unforgettable journey.
 
At the celebratory event held at Tirathgarh, esteemed guests, local authorities, and devoted nature enthusiasts united to pay tribute to the unsung heroes behind the park’s eco-development and ecotourism initiatives. These dedicated people including members of the Eco-Development Committee, Gypsy Safari Operators, Nature Guides, Myna Mitra, Magar Mitra, Patrolling Guards, and field staff, were honoured for their relentless commitment to safeguarding the park’s natural treasures. Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF), Mohammad Shaheed, graced the event as the Chief guest, extolling the breathtaking beauty of Kanger Valley that leaves all who visit in awe. He emphasised the crucial need to raise awareness among tourists to combat plastic usage, which poses a grave threat to the park’s delicate ecosystem. Addressing the gathering, Dhammasheel Ganveer, Director of Kanger Valley National Park, commended the collective efforts of the community in elevating the park’s stature on the global stage.
 
The park’s exceptional amalgamation of natural splendor, rich biodiversity, and indigenous tribal heritage has transformed it into an enticing destination for visitors from across the nation and beyond. Notable personalities present at the celebration included environmentalist Dr Satish Jain, senior writer Subhash Pandey and acclaimed stage artist Shiv Prakash and Anil Lunkad. Sarpanch Maheshwari Kashyap and Gagra Ram added to the significance of the event as special guests, showering praise on the park’s unwavering efforts in preserving nature’s gifts. In a world that increasingly recognises the importance of environmental conservation, Kanger Valley National Park, located 330- km from the State Capital, serves as an inspiring model, reminding us of the intrinsic link between humanity and nature.
