Shahpura police have solved the blind murder mystery of an elderly woman within 24-hours of the incident and apprehended a delinquent child for killing her. A 16-year-old teenager killed the elderly woman by attacking her with an axe after being annoyed with her abusing. Superintendent of Police, Tushar Kant Vidyarthi disclosed this while addressing a press conference, on Monday. He informed that receiving the information of murder of a woman in Magarmuha village, Shahpura police reached the spot and learnt that the body of an elderly woman Rati Bai Patel (80), a resident of Magarmuha village was found near farm of Sunder Patel situated at around 50-metre distance of his house.
In prima facie of the investigation, police found that the elderly woman was killed with a sharp-edged weapon as she sustained critical wounds on her face and neck. Senior police officers were informed about the incident and SDOP, Patan, Sarika Pandey and FSL Officer, Dr Neeta Jain and Additional SP (Rural), Shivesh Singh Baghel reached the spot for further investigation into the case. Taking a serious note into the case, Superintendent of Police, Tushar Kant Vidyarthi constituted a team under the supervision of Additional SP, Shivesh Singh Baghel, SDOP Patan, Sarika Pandey and SHO, Shahpura, S L Verma for further investigation to identify and apprehending the accused. Police found some evidences through dog movement and other physical evidences.
On the basis of evidences, police questioned a 16-year-old boy who was sight near the spot of finding the body. The suspected boy confessed to the killing of woman. He disclosed that the woman directed him to giving fodder and water to cattle but he refused. But the woman started abusing him and manhandle him. Annoyed with this, he picked-up an axe and killed her and dragged her body to the farm. On his identification, police have seized the axe from bushes near the spot and produced the delinquent boy before Juvenile Court, Gokalpur, Jabalpur.
