RAIPUR,
In a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government at the Centre, Rajesh Lilothia, the Chairman of All India Congress Committee (AICC) Scheduled Caste (SC) Department, has accused the ruling party of weakening constitutional institutions. He was in the state capital to attend a meeting of the SC Department of Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CPCC) held at State Congress party office, Rajiv Bhawan, in State Capital. Addressing a press conference Lilothia stated that the AICC’s SC Department has initiated a campaign to appoint ‘Samvidhan
Rakshak’ (Guardians of the Constitution) to protect the Indian constitution.

Through this app, citizens can actively participate in safeguarding the constitutional principles, he added. Highlighting his concerns, Lilothia expressed that the Indian constitution is under threat in the BJP rule, alleging that the government does not adhere to its principles. He further asserted that the marginalised sections of society, including Scheduled Tribes (ST), Scheduled Castes (SC), and minorities, are not receiving adequate social security measures. Commending the work of the Congress government led by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the AICC’s SC Department Chairman praised the all-round development happening in Chhattisgarh under Congress rule.

In addition to criticising the Central Government’s approach, Lilothia also addressed the ongoing ethnic violence in Manipur, holding the government accountable for the situation. During the press conference at Rajiv Bhawan, Labour Minister Dr. Shiv Kumar Dahariya joined Lilothia and stated that the CPCC’s SC Department meeting had taken place, where strategies for the upcoming assembly elections were discussed along with various other issues. The press conference was attended by State Congress Media Chief Sushil Anand Shukla and other prominent party leaders.
