Law and order arrangement has been challenged with the dacoity of 150-grams gold ornaments, cash and other valuables amounting in lakhs of rupees at residence of a businessman situated in Napier Town under the jurisdiction
of Omti police station in the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. The incident proved a blot on the working of police department. Police are still clue less in solving two earlier dacoity incidents reported in Napier Town areas. Another dacoity in a posh area of the city has created panic amongst residents and challenged the working of police in maintaining law and order arrangements.
 
The incident took place when around 7 – 8 masked men laced with sharp-edged weapons and iron rods entered the residence of Dalveer Singh Tuteja (60), owner of Upkar Automobiles at Madan Mahal and a resident of near Muskan Heights in Napier Town by breaking a window at around 2.45 am on Sunday. Dalveer Singh along with his wife Jasveer Kaur was sleeping in their room when 7-8 masked men entered their room and hammered Jasveer Kaur with an iron rod. The miscreants were asking about cash of Rs 1 crore in the house and searched all the drawers and cupboards. They took away jewellery of around 150-grams, cash of Rs 20,000, wrist watches and other valuables from the house after tying them with ropes.
 
According to police, the dacoits are likely to be escaped through rail route and police are scanning the CCTV footages of the locality to find any clue of the dacoits. Learning about the incident, police teams from different police stations reached the spot and senior officers were informed about the incident. Later, Superintendent of Police, Tushar Kant Vidyarthi (IPS), Additional SP (City), Priyanka Shukla (IPS), Additional SP, Sanjay Agrawal (IPS) along with finger print expert and sniffer dogs reached the spot and started investigation into the case. Omti police have registered a case under Sections 395 and 397 of IPC while further probe is on are underway.
