deeply affected by dismissal of Rahul Gandhi’s appeal by the Gujarat High Court in defamation, Congress members staged a silent protest across the country to safeguard democracy in front of the Mahatma Gandhi’s statue. Accordingly, City Congress Committee members staged a silent protest in front of statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Town Hall, with an aim to safeguard democracy, on Friday.
 
Congressmen said former President of All India Congress Committee, Rahul Gandhi, who gained attention by embarking on a 3,970-kilometer Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, promoted the message of love.
This decision has deeply affected the Congress party, prompting them to stage silent protest. Those present on the occasion were Jagat Bahadur Singh, Ayodhya Tiwari, Atul Bajpai, Prabha Singh, Sushila Kanaujiya, Manoj Seth, Saurabh Sharma and others.
