Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET) has extended the dates of registration for admissions to various professional courses. The courses include engineering, BHMCT, BPEd, MCA, BArch, LLB (3 years), MBA, MMS. The date has been extended to July 10. The CET Cell had earlier announced that registration to the colleges offering professional courses would start on June 15. But the process got delayed. The process began on June 24. Soon, the colleges started facing problems considering the large number of students thronging the centres. On the demand by colleges, the Cell extended the date to July 7. The same has been again extended to July 10.

 

Every year every State has to provide the list of new colleges, new courses whose Extension of Approval (EOA) and Letter of Approval (LOA) are received by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). After the finalisation of the list, the status of affiliation to colleges by the respective universities is decided, then only admission process gets started. The State is yet to finalise the list, an important step as far as the filling options by students is concerned.

 

The results of Under Graduate courses in some universities are delayed due to which the process for admission to courses like LLB (3 years), MBA, MCA is facing snarls. The highest number of students are aspiring to get admission to engineering courses. As per information, 1.69 lakh students have registered for the courses till date. Of these, 1.40 lakh students have completed the procedure. Last year, 1.33 lakh students had registered for admissions to engineering courses.
