THE Rajnandgaon Range welcomed its first Inspector General of Police, Rahul Bhagat as he officially assumed office on Monday. The newly-formed range comprises four districts- Kabirdham, Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai, Rajnandgaon, and Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarhchowki. Rahul Bhagat, a seasoned IPS officer from the 2005 batch, has brought a wealth of experience to his new role. Prior to his appointment as the Inspector General of Police for Rajnandgaon Range, he held various significant positions in different districts across the state. Having served as the Superintendent of Police in Narayanpur, Kanker, Raigarh, and Kabirdham districts, Rahul Bhagat has a thorough understanding of the ground realities and challenges faced by different regions. During his tenure as Deputy Inspector General of Police, he was assigned to the Central Government on deputation, further broadening his perspective on law enforcement. Subsequently, he took on responsibilities in the office of the Inspector General of Police, Police Headquarters, Raipur.

 

As Inspector General of Police for Rajnandgaon Range, Rahul Bhagat has pledged to uphold the law and maintain order while working towards the safety and welfare of the communities within the range. On his first day in office, he received a warm welcome from various dignitaries, including In-charge Superintendent of Police Rajnandgaon, Rajesh Kukreja, Superintendent of Police Kabirdham Dr Abhishek Pallav, and Superintendent of Police KhairagarhChhuikhadan-Gandai Ankita Sharma. Among others present during the occasion were Additional Superintendent of Police Rajnandgaon Lakhan Patle, Additional SP (IUCAW) Padmashree Tanwar, City Superintendent of Police Amit Patel, SDOP Dongargarh Prabhat Patel, DSP (IUCAW) Neha Verma, DSP (Traffic) Dilip Sisodia, DSP (AJAK) Tanupriya and Station House Officers. The appointment of Rahul Bhagat as the Inspector General of Police for Rajnandgaon Range marks a new chapter in law enforcement in the region, and his dedication and experience promise to bring positive changes and ensure the safety and security of the residents.
