VIHAN Nimkar shocked top seed Swanand Gotmare in straight games in the GH Raisoni Memorial Nagpur District Badminton Tournament in progress at Dhanwate National College, Congress Nagar, on Saturday. The tournament is being held for boys and girls in Under-9, U-11 and U-13 age categories.

 

In the Under-11 boys singles quarter-final, Vihan defeated Swanand Gotmare in straight games 15-6, 15-13. Later in the day, Vihan continued with the momentum to get the better of Shreeansh Naidu, 21-10, 21-11 in the semi-finals. In the final, Vihan will play Avinash Khiratkar who defeated Varad Lanjewar 21-8, 21-16. Other top seeds Shreeansh Naidu, Ira Rokade, Anudhya Satpute and Vaishnavi Manglekar in their respective groups made it to the finals. Zeeshan Khan was in line for multiple crowns.
