Collector inspects Govindpura-Huzur polling booths, salaries of 3 absent BLOs deducted

Collector Ashish Singh visited polling booths of Govindpura and Huzur Assembly constituencies on Thursday morning. During this, three booth level officers (BLOs) were found absent.
On this, the Collector instructed to deduct one day’s salary of all these three BLOs. Ashish Singh reviewed ongoing voters’ list revision work by surprise inspection of polling stations. Collector Singh reviewed applications received from the BLOs present at the polling stations set up at Orion International School in Govindpura Assembly constituency and Swami Vivekanand Library.
He took information regarding adding/deleting names, amendment of voter ID card etc under the voters’ list revision programme.
After inspection of these two booths, the Collector gave instructions to deduct one day’s salaries of three BLOs who were found absent.
Collector Ashish Singh also directed that names of all the voters who have completed 18
years of age on October 1, 2023, should be compulsorily added to voters’ list. For this, BLOs should do house-to-house survey work. The Collector gave necessary instructions after obtaining information from the BLOs present at the polling stations regarding physical verification of voters above 80 years including recorded status of young voters, women voters aged 18 to 19 years in the voter list of polling stations.
