Superintendent of Police Tushar Kant Vidyarthi (IPS) chaired an important meeting of all the gazetted officers and SHOs of urban and rural areas to maintain law and order arrangements during forthcoming State Assembly elections in the district. Addressing the meeting, SP T K Vidyarthi directed officers to ensure apprehension of absconding criminals and warrantees and verification of arms licensees. Besides this, police should ensure prohibitory action against listed criminals. SP Vidyarthi congratulated the officers for successfully solving the complaints received through CM Helpline as Jabalpur ranked on top in solving CM Helpline cases in the State.
Officers were instructed for establishing better communication plan and expressed the need of additional patrolling for taking prohibitory action against anti-social elements and listed criminals. They were also directed for studying the report of General elections 2018 and Assembly elections 2019 for identifying sensitive areas for strengthening security arrangements. SP Vidyarthi emphasised over keeping more vigilant for maintaining law and order arrangements during the Assembly elections as election process will be soon started. Police should take preventive measures against anti-social elements by booking them through National Security Act (NSA), exiling, Section 110 of Cr.P.C. and Sections 107/116 (3) of Cr.P.C. Stern action should be taken against people engaged in illegal trade and transportation of liquor and narcotic substances.
During the meeting, Additional SP (City), Priyanka Shukla (IPS), Additional SP (City South), Kamal Maurya, Additional SP (North/Traffic), Pradeep Kumar Shende, Additional SP (Rural), Suryakant Sharma, Additional SP (Rural), Sonali Dubey, CSPs and SHOs of urban and rural police stations were present.
