Dr Manish Joshi, Secretary, University Grant Commission (UGC) while interacting with the faculty members at Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management (RCOEM), Nagpur on Saturday said that freedom, flexibility and choice to the students in sync with the aspirations of the young ones is the ultimate spirit of NEP.

 

Dr Joshi interacted with the faculty members about his thought on the uniqueness of RCOEM. He stressed that teaching is a profession which transforms the lives of human beings and thus asked the faculty members to share their experiences of such transformations.

 

He emphasized on breaking the barrier of language and thus to allow students to write examination in the local language. He said that UGC has translated books in twelve different languages which can be used for the same. He advised teachers to focus on experiential learning, changing the traditional system and initiative to bring innovative ways of teaching and using technology for the benefit of the students. He interacted with students also and encouraged them to be job creator and contribute towards the employment generation. He concluded his interaction by expressing the need to transform way of dealing with the students.
