Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed bhoomipujan for re-development of 506 railway stations across the country, including 34 stations in Madhya Pradesh, virtually under Amrit Bharat Yojana on Sunday. All these stations will be developed as city centre. Broad preparations were done at Sant Hirdaram Nagar Station where Governor Mangubhai Patel was present. Redevelopment plan has been done keeping in mind the need of passengers in next 30 years. The 34 stations under MP comes under Parliamentary area of BJP State President V D Sharma (Khajuraho Parliamentary area). Addressing the programme, PM Modi said that big campaigns are on the way for infrastructure development and residents. Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Devashish Tripathi informed that 34 railway station in Madhya Pradesh will be re-developed with a cost of Rs 982.3 crore. There are 11 station under Bhopal Railway Division included in this re-development project. Popular Khajuraho will be redeveloped as world class railway station with a cost of Rs 260 crore.
In Khajuraho Parliamentary area, Katni Junction, Katni Mudwara Station will also be redeveloped. The DRM said that design of stations have been planned for facility of physically challenged, women, senior citizens and children. Agencies will be completing work in six to eight months. There will be lift, escalator, executive lounge, waiting area, shopping zone, food court, kids gaming zone, better parking, CCTV monitoring, free wi-fi, green energy, etc. According to reports, Rs 260 crore will be spent to develop Khajuraho station as world class, Rs 31.7 crore for Amla station in Betul, Rs 30 crore for Katni junction, Rs 29.9 crore for Itarsi Junction under Hoshangabad, Rs 29 crore for Dewas Railway Station, Rs 29 crore for Gadarwara Station under Narsinghpur, Rs 28.5 crore for Guna Station redevelopment, Rs 25.4 crore for Junnardev Railway Station in Chindwara, Rs 25 crore for Damoh Station, Rs 24.9 crore for Betul, Rs 24 crore for Dabar Station in Gwalior, Rs 22 crore or Katni Mudwara, Rs 21.6 crore for Shamgarh, Mandsaur, Rs 21.5 crore for Shreedham sattio, Narsinghpur, Rs 21.4 crore for Maihar Station, Satna, Rs 21.3 crore for Ganjbasoda, Vidisha, Rs 21.2 crore for Sant Hirdaram Nagar Station, Bhopal, Rs 20.6 crore for Nepanagar, Khandwa, etc.
The 11 railway stations under Bhopal division to be redeveloped are Sant Hirdaram Nagar, Vidisha, Harda, Banapur, Itarsi, Narmdapuram, Ganjbasoda, Guna, Ruthai, Vyara- Rajgarh and Shivpuri. All these stations will get high-level platforms, designer signage, dedicated foot-walk, planned parking area, better lighting arrangement, Divyang friendly approach road, multilevel parking, waiting hall, better toilets, hygienic cafeteria, restaurants and other facilities.
