KORBA,
The spirit of the ongoing Ganesh Festival has transformed every nook and corner, adorning them with captivating Lord Ganesh Pandals. Among these vibrant displays, the pandal crafted around the theme of the Lord Ram temple in the high school campus of Katghora has captured the attention and admiration of devotees. Standing tall at 21 feet, an impressive idol rests beneath a towering 107-foot high pandal, all created with the dedication of the Jayadeva Ganesh Utsav Committee.
The fervour of Ganesh Utsav extends not only to the urban areas of the district but also to the suburban regions. The Katghora Ganesh pandal is a reflection of the grand Ram temple under construction in Ayodhya, drawing parallels in its architectural design. The artisans devoted two months to craft this magnificent pandal, while the idol itself was meticulously prepared by a skilled artisan from Rajnandgaon. The expertise of artisans from Raipur was enlisted to embellish the idol with exquisite brocade decorations. The town is now immersed in an atmosphere of joy and celebration as devotees gather for morning and evening aartis.
Devotees from near and far have journeyed to witness the pandal and idol, adding to the festivities. This grand 11-day event has ignited a sense of cultural harmony and unity across the city, fostering an environment of shared joy and devotion. The culmination of the Ganesh Festival will occur on September 26, marked by the immersion of the Ganesh idol. During this period, the city will witness an array of processions representing 21 states, further emphasizing the rich tapestry of diversity and traditions celebrated during this auspicious festival.
